Landscaper Job Description
You will perform a range of landscape tasks from installation to maintenance. (see responsibilities and requirements)
As a part of our team, you will be expected to conduct yourself in a professional manner, with owners, fellow employees, other landscapers, suppliers, and most importantly, our customers.
You must be a problem solver and have excellent communication & organizational skills, have attention to detail and make showing up to work a priority!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Properly plant annuals, perennials, shrubbery and trees
Create and grade landscape berms
Install drainage systems
Add finish material to landscapes using mulch, rock, boulders, etc
Prepare and install retaining walls, paver, flagstone, & brick walkways and patios, as well as other garden structures, using a variety of materials, including wood
Maintain existing landscapes by trimming, pruning, weeding, raking and cleaning out debris
Educate customers of proper care and maintenance of their landscape
Other tasks as deemed necessary by the owners
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current drivers license and clean driving record
A minimum of one (1) year experience in a landscaping role
Must be able to operate and maintain landscape equipment, including but not limited to driving a pick-up with a trailer, safely backing trailer in tight spaces, bed-edgers, sod cutters, skid steers, mini skid steers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers and power tools, and treat all equipment with respect
Must have high attention to detail and be able to follow directions verbally, written, and from landscape drawings
Must be 18 years old or older
Must be able to work independently
Must have physical stamina, high tolerance to hot and cold weather and be able to lift heavy objects (a standard retaining wall block weighs approximately 80-90 pounds)
Must be able to stand, squat, bend, turn, and reach above your head
